March 19, 2024

King University’s RN to BSN Program offers a unique alternative to the traditional method for obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Many individuals find this option to be the best fit for their personal lives and professional goals. As a cohort-based program, you will join others on the same journey in our fully online program to build on previous knowledge and expand your scope of practice. Both full-time and part-time options are available, with full-time students completing the program in as few as 12 months.

Why Choose the RN to BSN Program at King University?

Accelerated BSN Pathway

Our accelerated program features 7-week courses designed specifically for the ADN- or Diploma-prepared Registered Nurse, both new graduates and experienced nurses. Students can easily transfer credits from their previous college experiences to meet most of the degree completion requirements. King will recognize the associate degree as having satisfied the University’s general education requirements (except for the common experience, which is our religion course, RELG 1001) if the degree:

  • Includes a minimum of 30 hours of coursework of a general education nature
  • Includes at least one course in the Humanities/Fine Arts, Social/Behavioral Science, and Natural Science/Mathematics

Flexible Learning Format

King University offers a fully online program that is flexible and self-paced. Supported by a Student Success Specialist as well as an Academic Advisor throughout the program, students experience a seamless transfer process and stress-free enrollment through either a full-time or part-time offering

Program Outcomes

King’s RN to BSN program is designed to develop competent and compassionate nursing professionals who:

  • Assess patients’ conditions and identify actual and potential issues.
  • Use therapeutic techniques to establish a positive rapport with the client and their family.
  • Think critically and integrate pertinent data from multiple sources in planning care.
  • Create viable solutions to medical problems and provide diagnostic reasoning.
  • Consult and collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Promote and teach healthcare knowledge to individuals, families, and the community.
  • Manage, collaborate, and supervise other nursing staff.

RN to BSN Curriculum

King University’s RN to BSN program offers a robust curriculum covering topics from evidence-based practice, nursing leadership, ethics, and community/population health. The curriculum consists of a total of 36 semester hours of major courses and as little as 4 general education semester hours, providing the associate degree meets criteria to satisfy the general education requirements. A specialized plan of study may be developed for students requiring more than 4 general education semester hours. Prospective students or applicants may request an unofficial transcript assessment to identify how courses transfer from other institutions to King University. The unofficial transcript assessment will map transferrable courses to major course requirements, general education requirements, or elective credits. To request an unofficial transcript assessment, please email [email protected] or reach out to an enrollment counselor. Courses eligible for transfer must be completed at a regionally accredited institution with a grade of C- or higher and meet the requirements for transfer as outlined by King University. All assessments are unofficial until an individual is admitted to the University and the Office of Records and Registration complete an official transcript evaluation and degree audit.
